The ‘Actiflo’ (Veolia technology) unique technology of water clarification is based on the ability to precipitate impurities under the influence of gravity using microsand as inoculating seeds for floc formation and also as a ballast accelerating precipitation. Special reagents in clarifier purification units such as coagulants, flocculants, lime milk etc. are used for faster and better precipitation of impurities.

"Actiflo" (Veolia technology) clarification units are used to preliminarily purify surface waters from organic, suspended and colloid matters and to reduce water turbidity, color and oxidability.

TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Primary coagulated water is supplied to the injection tank where impurity particles are made heavy under the influence of microsand continuously brought in. Then water is supplied to the ripening chamber, where flocks mature because of the optimum hydrodynamic regime. In the last chamber of the clarifier purification unit, there are thin-layer modules which provide fast precipitation of heavy sludge with sand. Clarified water is supplied to the consumer or for further purification.

"Actiflo" (Veolia technology) technology provides partial recirculation of microsand. That’s why the sludge is transferred to hydro cyclone, where microsand is separated. The clear microsand is returned to the injector chamber. Sludge from hydro cyclone is taken to drainage or for additional processing (for example to dehydration).

Primary water is supplied to the chamber with powdered activated carbon to absorb compounds which are not eliminated during sedimentation and coagulation. In the next chamber of the clarifier purification unit, coagulant is added to make the impurity particles larger. Then in the flocculation chamber, flocculated sludge is actively formed under the influence of flocculants and microsand. Every chamber of the clarifier purification unit is equipped with mixer to provide an optimum hydrodynamic regime. In the last chamber of the clarifier purification unit, there are thin-layer modules which provide fast precipitation of heavy sludge with sand. Clarified water is supplied to the consumer or for further purification..

"Actiflo Softening" (Veolia technology) clarifier purification units are used to preliminarily purify surface waters from organic, suspended and colloid matters, to reduce water turbidity, color and oxidability and also to reduce alkalinity and hardness.

Technology provides partial recirculation of microsand and sodium carbonate. That’s why the sludge is transferred to the hydro cyclone where microsand and sodium carbonate are separated. Clear microsand and unreacted sodium carbonate are returned to the working cycle of the clarifier purification unit. Sludge is continuously eliminated for further processing. Primary water is supplied to the decarbonization/desalination chamber where temporary hardness is eliminated and carbon dioxide/temporary and constant hardness are fastened under the influence of lime/sodium carbonate. In the coagulation chamber, particles become larger under the influence of coagulant. Then coagulated water is supplied to the flocculation chamber, where flocculated sludge is formed under the influence of flocculent and microsand. Every chamber of the clarifier purification unit is equipped with mixer to provide an optimum hydrodynamic regime. In the last chamber of the clarifier purification unit, there are thin-layer modules which provide fast precipitation of heavy sludge with sand. Clarified water is supplied to the consumer or for further purification.
